Sorry if I missed it but are Canon Updates allowed and if so, would that also apply to CRAU characters and their played history?

I'm considering different characters and haven't decided which point to take from yet, but knowing how updates work would help narrow down selections.

Edit: sorry one more question, is there any additional info about the gods and character selection? Orion for example, is the priest of a goddess and a warrior so technically could appeal to both.
